The Most Common Sarcomas Arising From the GI Tract
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most
common sarcomas arising from the gastrointestinal (GI)
tract, with an incidence of 14.5 cases per 1 million individuals. According to the American Cancer Society, there
are approximately 4,500 to 6,000 new cases in the United
States per year.
